Cover Analysis - 50,000,000 Elvis Fans Can't Be Wrong

This album breaks norms by featuring the track listing on the front cover. This record was released whilst Elvis had been drafted into the army. Fans were worried that whilst in the army his spot as the 'King of Rock' would be usurped. However, in 1959 this image of elvis in a golden suit epitomising the success he had achieved and reminding everyone that he was still the biggest selling rock and pop performer of the time. This was the first time a second 'greatest hits' album had ever been released and it was recorded in a rushed session whilst Elvis was still in the army. The simplicity, madness and creativity that went into this album cover are what interest and inspire me the most.
